Senate gone, Obama seats nominees
Article 2- Section 2- "He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments."
Obama made decisions of who to gi ve the seats to in the Senate. He chose Craig Becker and Mark Pearce to his administration. Obama chose 15 nominees to his administration. Obama states that 77 of his nominees were gone because of the partisan politics. Obama also was to choose nominees for four seats, Department of Homeland Security, Commerce Department, Treasury Department and U.S. Trade Representative. he used his power there, to make his decision. But before the people he nominated take the seat, it has to be approved by the Senate. And they were approved.
This article connects to the Executive because one of the powers that President Obama has is to choose his cabinet, and to select the nominees for who gets to be "in charge" of a certain office. In the article it states that the president, Obama, "shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States." He obviously used his power in this situation. In the article it states that Craig Becker and Mark Pearce were nomniated by Obama by using his executive power. Obama made a lot of decisions for nominees in certain offices, which kept getting disapproved. But he still had the power to choose other nominees for the office. Obama had the power to chooose whoever in which he thought would be a good runner up for the spot.
I do believe that Obama is trying his very best in being the president. I know he is trying to pick the best people to be in his cabinet. He is picking a strong cabinet to protect the US and to make us stronger as a country. I do beleive he will use his power wisely for being in power to choose who gets to be in office. But I also believe that the Senate knows whose best for what as well.

ReplyDeleteGood article and good explanation. Unfortunately, you didn't provide the section of the Constitution that this article reflects. This was the key point to the assignment.
