The recipe for recovery
Article I- Section 8- "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"
This article is about how Congress is going to help the economy get better. Right now, congress' number one priority is to help the economy. Republicans are against tax cuts for 95% of Americans, and are also against small bussinesses hiring. But the Democrats however did cut the taxes for 95% of Americans. They made serious investements for bridges, railways, and roads. They also cut taxes on small bussinesses so that they can hire unemployed people. They also made it easier for employers to get health insurance. Also, for middle class they ended credit card billing practices. They also made the biggest student lending investment.
What this article has to do with Article I Section 8, is that Congress have the power to tax or not. Democrats in this article are cutting taxes and are helping small bussinesses and people. They also ended credit card practices to prevent people from going into debt. Article 1 Section 8 gave congress the power to cut the taxes and stop credit card practices. They cut 95% of Amercians taxes, which is a HUGE percentage. And they had no problem in doing so because of the power that congress is given.
I think its good that congress is finally doing something to help the economy. Especially in cutting the taxes for Americans. I think that was a huge step, but I dont understand why Republicans were not for it. Congress did good in making this decision though. They really are helping the economy, in which they should. They also fixed the roads, etc. which was a good idea because I am sure there is a lot of repairs to be done.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about Governors who are endorsing anti-immigration laws. How on EARTH does this show Congress in action?
