Right pours cash into Senate races
This article is about the democrats recieving a lot of money for campaigning. The Republicans have spent a lot of money on campaigning, more than the Senate has. But the third party group had raised money for the Senate to campaign. They raised $53 million, thats about $5 million more then the Republican. So now the Republicans are struggling. A lot of groups seemed to have beein getting support from the Supreme Court. This allowed them to make TV ads without making thier donors known. The Supreme Court said that section 501(c)(4) allowed the groupd to do so. But this is now becoming a problem because people will not know who are the sources.
What this article had to do with the Judicial Branch is that the Supreme court had let the groups advertise. This hows that the groups needed thier apporval of advertising the campaigns of the Senate and Reps. So the Judicial Branch does have power, even though people are now worried because of what the Judical branch supported. The judicial branch supported the groups because of section 501(c) 4(s). This is what let the supreme court support.
I think that what the supreme court decided wasn't the best thing to do. I think that all people, organizations, etc. should be recognized by what they do. Such as the donors who gave the money to the groups to campaign. If it weren't for them, then they wouldnt have money to campaign with. Its like plagarism sort of, your not giving credit to people responsible. But if the Supreme court decided already, then oh well.

ReplyDeleteThis is NOT the Judicial Branch in action. The Judicial Branch is the SUPREME COURT! Where in this article does it show the Supreme Court doing something based on the powers granted to it by the Constitution?
